Normally when a client asks us about how they should structure their business we focus on getting the best tax outcome and protecting their assets. In some of the restructures we have done the clients have said to me that while all that was very good the biggest benefit was how the structure helped them run their business so much better.

The Deputy Commissioner at the recent National Conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants said that in relation to self managed super funds “we then focused on education … we’re now concentrating on taking firmer action”
