Small Business Benchmarks

The ATO has developed over 100 industry small business benchmarks and have been progressively releasing and updating these over the past 12 months. How has your business performed? The benchmarks provide a snapshot of how usinesses in an industry are performing on average (sales and profit). They also present measures of various business costs in relation to sales turnover and inputs.

Are you a keen seller of items on eBay or in the Trading Post? The ATO has obtained data from eBay Australia and Trading Post Australia to assess the level of taxation compliance of individuals and businesses that sell goods or services online.

The ATO has advised that some employers have been incorrectly including compulsory super amounts as RESCs on their employee’s payment summaries for the 2009/2010 income year, such as super guarantee contributions and award super contributions.

At a glittering ceremony on Monday 13th September Kate and Lauren Gray (2010 Young Ambassador) were named as winners of the Congenial Award for 2010.

An entrant in this year’s Young Ambassador Program, Kate’s turning the page on traditional fundraising and thinking outside of the toy box with a book and toy drive for the Centre this month.
